Next Trucking is a freight technology platform and digital marketplace that connects shippers and carriers to move freight in a cost effective, reliable, and sustainable way. Truck drivers book and complete recommended jobs in a mobile app that we have developed, at the same time providing shippers with accurate visibility and status updates to their shipments.

What Do Hireframers Do for NEXT?

Next Trucking has partnered with Hireframe for outsourced support for our operations and accounting teams for about four years now.

Hireframe has staffed roles on our accounting teams, such as AP clerks and billing specialists, and then on our operations side, mostly operation specialists to support our customer and carrier teams.

How Do You Manage Offshore Talent?

I think a great example of a way we've collaborated with Hireframe is on performance management. So even though these are not directly our employees, they're supporting very important parts of the business and we want to make sure that their performance is on track, that they're being supported and developed and Hireframe wants the same for them as well. 

So we partnered to create a performance review process that kind of lines up with our internal performance review process so that Hireframers are also getting feedback on their performance and that has allowed them to develop in their careers as well. So we're able to use that information for end of year merit cycles or if we need to consider someone for a promotion. And it also makes sure that our people managers are, having team members that are meeting the expectations of what we need for these roles as well.

Managing Hireframe Teams

My colleagues at NEXT, especially our people managers who have Hireframers on their team, really appreciate the CSM or point of contact at Hireframe that meets with them on a regular cadence because our NEXT leaders are coming in with their perspective of the Hireframer's performance. And then the Hireframer point of contact is coming in with best practices on how to work with and support a Hireframer.

So I think that's probably been the most successful because oftentimes when you work with outsourcing, you might just be given an individual to work with and you're expected to kind of manage that relationship on your own.But with Hireframe, it's really a partnership to make sure that NEXT is getting the services that we're expecting, but also that the Hireframer is also performing well and enjoying their experience too.

Communicating With Hireframe

For a relationship like this to be prosperous or successful, I think it really takes Hireframe just really being open to what we're expecting out of the relationship. So that has allowed for a lot of great communication, even learning from certain situations. But most of all, like we've just worked really well together to make sure that service expectations, communication expectations are super clear.

I think they take accountability and they come with ideas and solutions on how it can work. And so I think by doing that we've been able to build just relationships and programs that are successful because there is that open communication and that interest in making sure that the people have a good experience and that we're also getting the service and the performance that we need too.

Easy to Build Up and Stand Up Teams Around the World

They've been great partners and communicators, especially when we have to pull together teams for specific projects or initiatives. What we enjoy about our relationship with Hireframe is that they have similar values to us in caring about their people, making sure that they're supportive and that they are being developed in their roles and their careers. It's also been a great partnership because they're also remote like us. So that's kind of been easy to really build up and stand up teams around the world.
